Am sorry I was away for a while...
My journal app has been malfunctioning...Just the other i wrote a pretty long note on my phone using the Evernote app...
And as I was about to save it,....it got wiped out...
It was quite painful because I felt it was a really beautiful note....
So I will just try to reiterate some of it......

It even RAINED HEAVILY that day in my side of lagos...
And It reminded me of the NYSC anthem i had learnt few weeks ago during my orientation camp at Nasarawa.
*Youth obey the clarion call...let us lift our nation high.UNDER THE SUN AND IN THE RAIN with dedication and selflessness.....*
Our voices often pitched higher at the under the sun and in the rain part in childish unseriousness each time we sang the anthem on parade ground.....

The corp members in lagos must have really served that nature itself testified with heaviness of rain....lol
And if it didn't rain in your own state...i bet it was sunny (remember UNDER THE SUN is also part of that anthem too!).....lol..but if it was neither rainy or sunny....well...I OnnO oo!!!!
ANYWAYS, that's on the very light mood...
my aim is to congratulate all batch B corp members who did their passing out parade last week...Congratulations!
For you its the end of service year....atleast in the light of NYSC...but for me it is more like the BEGINNING....not necessarily beginning of SERVICE but in the light of NYSC,it is!!....
Just a little over a month ago,the journey of SERVICE year (nysc) began...
But really it didn't begin the day I arrived at Magaji Dan-Yanusa orientation camp or when I wore my complete NYSC (7/7) kit or when I sang the NYSC anthem...and also pitched my voice higher at the UNDER THE SUN OR IN THE RAIN part of the anthem...it began at a place I call home...it began those times when I sat in church meetings ,in sunday services when rev WARD,the governing pastor of the church,in school,would teach time and time again on SERVICE.
If any one visited Oracles Christain centre and stayed for let's say two weeks,am very convinced and undoubtedly sure that person would pick on two things that is constantly emphasised on in that place.
- PURPOSE
- SERVICE
If you didn't hear it in the PURPOSE-driven academy sunday classes where the Purpose driven life book written by Rick Warren is read and talked about.
You would surely hear it in either the message or unit ministrations or even from a member. you can't miss it!...
Far beyond hearing it,you would see it in the leadership of the place....
Papi!
That's what call my pastor,rev WARD would teach,charge and admonish all to serve...
He himself modelled it to us..
We literally watched what we were taught....
He would linked it with having authority in the house.
He linked with coming to a place influence.
He linked it with leadership.
He linked it with fulfilment in life and ministry.
And he always always linked it with GREATNESS.
He even linked with our PURPOSE in life...
Then I saw it again for myself in scriptures
..but WHOEVER wishes to be GREAT among you let him be your SERVANT..matt20:26(AMP)
Even scripture linked GREATNESS with SERVICE...
This is what am driving at.....
For those of us who have our face set for fulfilment,for leadership,to be influential and for greatness SERVICE doesn't end with POP!...
It's a life time....
Men and women who have touched,influence,fulfilment and greatness were men who sold their life out in service of a cause...In service of humanity...In service of GOD!
Our Lord JESUS who is an epitome of SERVICE touched immortality through serving the will of the Father...which was the salvation of man-kind.
He remains an immortal to us who believe and urges us to come and inherit immortality through Service of God and man....
It began in all those countless times when I saw my pastor model it to me.it began at all each time I sat in church listening to papi and several other ministers talk about service...
It began when we read that book purpose driven life .
It began when I saw it the script of our nature...*SCRIPTURES!*
It began when I read and saw people model service with their lives.....
it began when I saw the joy in the faces of people who had served....!
CONGRATULATIONS again and again to all the brothers and sisters who had their passing out parade last week.....
BUT THIS IS MY CHARGE to myself first and to you, service must continue long after we have worn our khakis and jungle boots...it must be our life...
The master HIMSELF, when he made us,designed for us with an invisible khaki and boot to serve a purpose...a cause!!!!
This invisible khaki and boot is given when and each time certain set of UNDERSTANDING of purpose designed by the creator comes to you!....
It is this understanding that we wear all through the days of our lives.
It cannot wear off like the physical one that NYSC gave us.....
It's unseen but it more real...
None can make an excuse of not been give one....
And we will all give account of how well we used this invisible khaki and boot...
Plus the allowee you get to collect seasonally for a lifetime is nothing compared to FG's 19.8....its encapsulated in mastery,in joy, in fulfilment, in peace, in knowing Him much more.
don't forget scripture says He daily loads us with benefit-psalm68:19
And it is only in SERVICE of your PURPOSE that joy, mastery, influence and fulfilment come together and make an intersection called GREATNESS.....
And at our PASSING OUT PARADE in life when we meet the master....
I bet he will issue us a certificate that says
*THOU GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT...enter into the JOY of your MASTER....*
That's the main POP that we must all aim at as much as we celebrate that of NYSC with joy and gratitude.
And we will join saints like Abraham, David,moses, deborah,john the beloved,
Peter, Paul etc in taking groupies and selfies...more groupies
Rejoicing!!!
And especially with the one who is the embodiment and Firstfruit of SERVICE ,JESUS,our saviour and Lord.....
Congratulations!!!!
