HAuSA CuISiNE: CHeAP et DEliCIouS!

So I have finally joined the hausa cuisine loving corpers...
I have even been told I look like a fulani...i just blend with the hausa corpers smoothly....their food is both delicious and cheap!....i mean cheeappp!....yes! CHEAP!....
not only cheap! Light and toilet friendly!....

this morning after the 5am parade, i just went straight to the hausa cuisine section for breakfast..
It was yam and stew for breakfast!..
After yesterday taste of thekunnu nziike(custard-like fluid) and moinmoin...and the ease to which I ran to toilet from the parade ground...Hausa meals was the new high flier for me!

I felt like a *John-smith* who just found treasure island!!!

HAUSA LOCAL CUISINE!!!!.....

It was like an oasis in the desert!!
The humble hausa cuisine section of mami market

A lot of the food sellers were calling at me to come to their shop...

*Aunty...comer here!...corper here!!...see me!
Hausa cuisine....
They don't look as flamboyant as others but
They have very tasty delicacies!

I just walked like a model on a runway filled with suitors on the side walk...
I stopped at the one whose voice beckoned at me the most....a young dark hausa woman!
The fura-de-nunu spot infront of the mosque
That's one of the hausa guys in my platoon
(buhari)trying to pay for his nunu!

I didn't know what I wanted but there was a lot to choose from..
The front was quite smokey...
A shimmering dark frying pot infront of each shop frying potatoes, yams, plantain.

...well,i was out on safe food adventure though..i don't intend eating anhmything that would upset my tummy....
So I just motioned to her to give me something pap-like.....
She gave me *kunnu geda* and Moinmoin....

Kunnu-geda-(a pap-like substance made of rice and ground nut with small clusters inside that made it have a rough look unlike the smooth looking custard/pap).
My interest in hausa cuisines just sky rocketed
..it was a great breakfast...
I spent some time with chigo today and we were both laughing the whole time in the hall while waiting for our SAED classes to begin.
Chigo is a bundle of cartoon character...
From bravo-samurai jack-powerpuff girls-grim adventure of Billy&Mandy-mega XLR-bonducks....he was all that kinda fun...
Chigo having his first bite of kunnu geda.
I was laughing the whole time

Our talk got more serious along the line of purpose...and finally I just had to initiate him into my new found hausa cuisine....he was in!
When you are adventure bound to another person...you always locate that person even amidst millions....so was the case after our SAED lectures..(me-catering&food processing. Chigo-education)...chigo located me!
We journeyed down to mami market...and I was in full force....building his already curious interest in the cuisine....
George aka Arab and omar at their usual hausa cuisine spot!

When we arrived...omar and his friend George aka Arab were already there eating....
And chigo's baptism into hausa cuisine began....even the hausa women could stopped laughing at the two funny character.
That's chigo in the little hausa food spot! And we ate to satisfaction for 150naira!

An afternoon siesta was expedient!

Another evening parade as usual...things are really lightening up in camp...soldiers are not as strict as before...there has been less doubling up...the tune now is *for nasarawa..for nasarawa corper don dey rest!....there was less of *so you are taking your time bah?*...less of squat downs!...things are beginning to happen within the camo....i mean things!!!...the word is all around....i even saw a flash of one while i was going for 8pm parade yesterday in the dark area between mami and the sport arena....hmm!!!
this morning parade was a photo shoot session.....

Moi!!!

The beautiful recruit!
