MoREDay in NasaRAwa!....ok its MONday

Monday morning drill continued!
I was getting really bored of the parade.we stood longer than others. We left the parade ground later than others!  We get to eat when the soldiers are rushing us up to other events.(all because we arrived late to get our food in the kitchen...and those soldiers don't have ears for excuse!)...Besides it kept me restricted to only one part of the whole camp! Parade ground!....i want adventure!...i want a little bit of everything!...and that's what am gonna do!
So after the 5am drill....i was up on my adventure tour!

The NYSC band!
This morning I considered joining the band...play some drums or even try out on the trumpets!...(i am not a drum person though...neither can I play a trumpet....but when you are on adventure
..everything looks appealing.....
Even a band!
A cross section of the nysc band!
They also stand alot! They work hand in hand with the parade that i wanted to make a quick escape from

THE INFLUENCE OF another OYEWOLE earlier this morning at parade! ....
Ore is a dancer! We share the same surname!  So this morning before I left the parade ground...he taught me some dance move.....its called *tutting*....i dont known if that's the right spelling...but that's the pronunciation....some kind of break dance where you demonstrate with your hand.(i have seen it alot in dance movies like step up,stomp the yard..)..and I sort of enjoyed it....especially the part when I was being laughed at for doing it funny!

I don't know what that move is called...
I choose to call it
*Maybe window or peep-view*..lol

B
I was sha doing something..

That's ore's long finger approving my moves...lok

Sometimes dancing can be fun-infectious when parade is not adding up!
As Rachel kept snapping me.....ify and amaka were infected.....many others were too...but they just didn't make the choice pictures to put up here..lol....
But I guess everyone was having fun!
Alil peek-a-boo on ify's face!
What shall we do about amaka's leg.
She just needed to get into the fun!

Amaka reminds of a beloved sister back in church at school.pretty smile...she is also in my platoon parade..she is actually the appointed corporal SMART's P.A.
Ify-me-amaka

Amazing how just connected!

How about Volley ball????

When the choice of joining the band was looking like a no-go-area because of its parade affiliation....i considered joining the female volley ball team for my platoon...so I registered my name and state code number
...and off I was to the volley ball court with the other ladies...they had started practicing the other day.....learning how to serve, hit and catch the ball....

I really didn't know much about volley ball except for the fact that it was played with hands..so I learnt a lot of new terms and way of positioning your hand when you want to serve, cool the ball,smash,dig..etc....
When I arrived, many of the ladies were yet to even get most of the routine  so I just joined the jjc....
FUN can be painful too!
I soon discovered how bad your hand and wrist can hurt after some few attempt at serving the ball.....
I had to get a massage with balm afterwards..
We practice all morning and after lunch!

I forgot to mention we were having the female volleyball match against platoon 8 this very afternoon......and yet I just came in this morning....well many of those around yesterday haven't made much progress except for very few ladies who could serve the ball alittle better....

THE VOLLEYBALL KICK OFF
Platoon 3 vs platoon 8.
It was my platoon against platoon 8!
Pink against yellow!

Chigo and the guy who joined me in doing the make up of the ladies during the platoon carnival were our coaches during the pratice!

The competing platoon as the umpire gave us
a download of the rule of the game before start off!
When the match was about to begin, there was a look of fear on our faces as the other team were much bigger than us,we even considered the fact that we had done so poorly at practice .only two and half of us could actually serve....most of the girls in my team were short and plum too! And fragile looking.....ki ni won wawa si volleyball gan!
I was somewhere in the middle of ladies wearing pink!

THE GAME!

That's me after I missed a ball the opponent served!!!

We had a good start but somehow the other team caught up on us...my team was poor at serving and catching the ball but the other team were pretty good at serving...and that's how the journey to defeat began.
The end of the match...both team shook hands with one another!
I was brought in as substitute player towards the end of the game.....i couldn't do much to help the team....we were already losing. The fans of the platoon 8 were already having a serious jubilation.ok.. we lost the match!

The platoon 3 female volleyball team!
Morales were down after the match for majority of the ladies!....the blame game was about to start.(good gracious) ...am glad chigo and the other coach hijacked the atmosphere to encourage the ladies...for me,i was out only for the fun and interest of participation....of course I would heartpreciate a little bit of win here and there..(which we did have) ...but losing won't dampen my morale....
In this 3weeks..am motivated.motivated.motivates!....am just out to explore and to write!....meet people...and have load of fun!..
Nothing was gonna stop me from the fun...win or loss!

A little picture of what I look like during the game!
That's me...trying to catch a served ball!

Having a blast...volleyball is supposed to be fun.
